Manchester has hundreds of good restaurants ranging from budget fast food places to Michelin starred dining experiences. It also also home to the 'curry mile' in Rusholme which has lots of Indian restaurants specialising in some of the spiciest (and tastiest) curries in the UK.

Unami, Oxford Road, Manchester £

A lunchtime and early evening favourite for both university staff and students this place, which specialises in Sushi and Asian  food, is always busy and has a bargain £6 lunch menu.

Jamie's Italian, King Street, Manchester ££

One of a chain of Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurants, this place offers modern Italian food in a magnificent Grade II listed building. Their sharing platters make this ideal for a dinner with friends.

Evuna, Deansgate, Manchester ££

Delicious Spanish food located in the heart of the city. This restaurant offers dishes ranging from tapas to full banquets and serves some excellent Spanish wines from its own shop.

Home Bistro, Tony Wilson Place, Manchester ££

​

Located in the fantastic new arts venue Home, this bistro offers a wide selection of food, including sharing platters and excellent vegetarian choices. Whilst you are there check out some independent cinema or theatre in one of Home's spaces.

The French at the Midland Hotel, St. Peters Square Manchester ££££

Located within the Midland hotel in a Grade II listed dining room, The French with Adam Reid is considered to be one of the top 20 restaurants in the UK.
